A twin buggy is possibly going to be the biggest investment that new parents of twins are going to make so it's important to get it right. Buggies and strollers are cheap, light and ideal for everyday use, but if you lead an active lifestyle you’d be better off with a more expensive all-terrain pushchair. Travel systems can make life easier if you use your car a lot, allowing you to click car seats directly onto the pushchair and saving waking the babies up, but are more expensive. Tandem pushchairs (where one twin sits behind the other) have the advantage of being narrower than side by side buggies, but can be more cumbersome to manoevre and often only one of the seats fully reclines making it unsuitable until the twins are at least 6 months old. Pushchairs which fully recline are ideal for newborns as they can lie flat, but are generally bulkier and heavier than lightweight buggies.
